“Ana Dil / Mother Tongue consists of two dictionaries meticulously sewn by the artist their linguistic content made inaccessible by the traditionally female gesture. The repetitive nature of the gesture becomes painstaking attempt of the body to triumph over language; all the public is left to admire are the geometrical lines of Kayar’s embroidery. Between the books stands tall Dialogue, a standing mirror frame through which the strings of different instruments, including a violin, a guitar and a saz, are pulled in order to create an interactive conversational piece which invites the audience to play it together. “
